Organized by the Environment, Sanitation and Beautification Committee, the initiative brought together members of the college management, academic and administrative staff, and the student body. Remarkably, despite the day falling on a public holiday, the college community turned out in high numbers, prioritizing the health, aesthetics, and overall well-being of the institution.

Fostering a Clean, Safe, and Conducive Learning Environment

The exercise commenced in the early hours of the morning, focusing on key areas across campus including lecture halls, administrative blocks, residential facilities, pathways, and green spaces. Activities carried out during the exercise included:

  • Clearing of overgrown weeds and brush around major facilities
  • Desilting of drains and gutters to facilitate proper drainage
  • Proper collection, sorting, and disposal of solid waste across key gathering points
  • General sweeping and tidying of academic halls and common areas

The active participation of staff alongside students highlighted a shared leadership model, reinforcing the principle that maintaining a clean and serene academic environment is a collective responsibility.

Dedication Beyond the Classroom

Speaking on the outcome of the exercise, leadership from the Environment, Sanitation and Beautification Committee commended all participants for sacrificing their holiday to serve the college. The enthusiasm and unity demonstrated throughout the morning reflect the core values of discipline, community service, and responsibility that MAMTECE instills in its community.
