DEPARTMENT OF science

The Department of Science his been part of this Institution from the onset, because Science has been a requirement for admission. The department has been offering science as a core and elective course. The Department’s vision is derived from its name Science Education currently, the only male institution in West African that trains and develops only male student-teachers leading to the Bachelor of Basic Education. It is the leading producer of male science teachers in Ghana.
The science department is made of Natural Science, Physical Education and Agricultural Science. The Department can boast of qualified staff with diverse backgrounds in the areas of Science. All the teaching staff in the department have the pre-requisite skills to teach in any tertiary institution prescribed by Ghana Tertiary Education Council (GTEC).

ACADEMIC
The science courses offered here are designed to consolidate the content and skills student-teachers have acquired from their lessons in elective and integrated science at the Senior High School. It also provides the student-teacher with content, skills and methodology of teaching these subjects at the basic schools. The ultimate aim of the department is to provide quality education and moral training to male student-teacher thus equipping them with academic and professional competencies to enable them meet the challenges of the changing global trend in education.
